In the poorest and most remote areas, AED has successfully wrapped up the distribution of 200,000 BluePacks to Afghan children. While AED is not actively soliciting funds for The BluePack Project, we are still accepting contributions to help defray the costs of this distribution.

We will soon be launching a new initiative, "Change Through Children" which will focus on children's health and education, and HIV/AIDS. There will be many funding opportunities to directly help children in developing countries through this effort. Please check back periodically for updates about this exciting and important program.

BluePack is a project to reconnect Afghan children to learning. It is operated by the Academy for Educational Development (AED), which for 40 years has reformed and improved educational systems worldwide.

BluePack is designed specifically to serve the immediate needs of Afghan children by providing basic education to each child in their own personalized backpack. BluePack symbolizes world support for educating every child and a commitment to support the rebuilding of Afghanistan's education system. For many Afghan children, a BluePack is often the first thing they can call their own.

There is a blank space left on each BluePack so that each child can write their own name on their pack. Each BluePack is filled with basic education supplies (pencils, pens, colored pencils, a sharpener, six notebooks, a ruler, chalk, a chalkboard, a coloring book) and a thermos so children can bring clean water from home since there is virtually no clean running water.
